Ms. Alexis “Relle” Baker is preceded in death by her doting
mother, Joyce Way; her aunts, Irene Archie and Rosemary Way;
uncle, Dennis Pitts; and grandfathers, John Way I and Alan Baker.
She attended Cook County Public Schools, where she
participated in the chorus and graduated with her beloved class of
2011. She was a quiet, but kind soul, and to know her was to know
that there was no one who loved 90’s R&B and the color pink like
she did She enjoyed life and loved to see anyone around her
smiling. She accepted Christ at an early age at New Prospect
Missionary Baptist Church in Adel, GA. This is where she met
Christ and placed Him at the head of her life. She was an active
member of the St. Matthew Grove Baptist Church in Lenox, GA.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her
children, Caes Merritt and Joy Baker; father, Darrelon Mays
(Peggy), sister, Lavern Turner; niece and nephews (more like her
siblings), Malcolm Ray, Brandi Turner & Mylic Turner; great
niece, Ava Hart; aunts, Mary Alice Way, Diane Coxsfield (James),
and Andrea Inman; great aunts, Jackie Sneed (Edgar) and Dorthy
Gary; uncles, John Way II, Edward Way & Henry Baker, Jr.
(Catherine); her beloved grandmothers, Mary Lee Way & Yvonne
Holman; seven step brothers, Demarow Byron, Anthony Smurf
(Stephanie), Ryan, Justin, Joshua, Malcolm (Shaikal), and Killien
Thompson all of Adel; and a very special best friend & sister,
Melissa Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
We will never forget you, Shug.
