Archie Gibson Jr.

Mr. Archie B. Gibson, Jr., affectionately known as “June” was born
March 2, 1942 in Roberta, GA to the late Archie B . Gibson, Sr., and the
late Zilphia May Gibson. Archie was called to be with the Lord on
August 9, 2023.
Archie was a longtime member at St. Matthew Grove Baptist Church
of Lenox, GA where he served on the usher board for a short time.
Archie had a passion for fishing and would often visit Paradise Lakes.
He was a good friend to all that knew him. Archie attended the Cook
County Training Center where he received his education.
He was preceded in death by one child, Alaric Gibson; father, Archie B.
Gibson, Sr.; mother, Zilphia May Gibson; son, Alaric Gibson; siblings,
HD Gibson, Beretha Evans, Rosetta Gettys and four infant siblings.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Betty Jean Gibson; four
children, Anthony Gibson (Cassandra) of Sparks, GA, Darrell and Alex
Gibson both of Lenox, GA and Alesha Payne (Jeffery) of Lenox, GA;
seven grandchildren, Anthony Bennet, Quavis Gibson, Quintene Cayo,
Yolonda Lampkin, Carmisha Gifford, Jamar Payne and Breanna Payne;
siblings, Alfred Gibson (Josephine) of Atlanta, GA, Robert Gibson
(Vivian) of Atlanta, GA, Melvin Gibson (Brenda) of Atlanta, GA,
Kathleen (Henry) of Lenox, GA and Louise Allen of Adel, GA; and a
host of other relatives and friends.
