On February 20, 1955 a beautiful bouncing baby boy was born to the late Mary Jane Flounoy and the late Joseph 'Pop' Christopher named Bernard Flounoy. He departed this life on July16,2025 at Colquitt Regional Hospital.Bernard joined St. James CME Church at an early age. He was a graduate of Thomas CountyCentral High class of 1972, thereafter h e attended F o r t Valley State University. He was employed by Timberlake Foods, Thomas County Schools as a bus driver, and at Sunnyland Foods until a n unfortunate back injury.He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving son Douglass Flounoy (Lashay Grier) of Moultrie,Georgia; Adoring daughter Marla Flounoy (Robert Singletary) of Moultrie,Georgia; four grand-children,,; sister Lavvonda Jackson of Pavo, Georgia, nephew Amari Pettis (Boy) of Columbia SC, Niece Karla Johnson of Moultrie, Georgia, three loving aunts Sandra Flounoy of Pavo, Georgia; Faye Flounoy of Opa-locka, Florida; Essie Johnson of Barwick, Georgia and his favorite cousin Deidra Davis of Pavo, Georgia and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Melvin Arrington.
