On the evening of Saturday, May 10, 2025, the Lord reached down from Glory and gently took the hand of His sweet, loving angel - Corene- and led her home. With a whisper only Heaven could hear, He said, "Well done, my child. Come on in and receive your crown."
Born on February 10, 1937, in the warm sands of Malabar, Florida, Corene Tramble-Carnegie came into this world as the third of six children to the late ID and Mamie Tramble. As a young girl, her journey led her to Georgia, where she grew up and attended Cook County Training School. It was there, in the folds of Southern soil and family roots, that she blossomed.
In her early years, she met and married her life partner, William James Carnegie, Sr. - a union that would be blessed with six beautiful children. Affectionately known as Snooki and sometimes Ms. Kitchen, Corene earned her name by doing what she did best: nurturing hearts and feeding souls from her stove. Her meals weren't just food - they were ministry. Love was her main ingredient.
Corene's heart was as open as her door. If you needed something, and she had it, you had it too - no questions asked. She was grace in motion, quiet strength in her stride, and wisdom wrapped in hugs that felt like home.
She was welcomed into eternal rest by her beloved husband William James Carnegie, Sr., her dear children Richard Carnegie and Patricia Mollins, three cherished sisters - Lois Tramble, Eloise Tramble, and Alice Hogue - her brother Otis Tramble, and five treasured grandchildren:
Kayla, Adrianna, Derrick, Tondrala, and LaShawnda.
Left to honor her legacy and carry her light are her children: Marshall (Gloria) Keeley, William (Tomeka) Carnegie, Jr., Lorenza Smith, and Carla (Willie James) Johnson; her devoted brother James (Doris) Tramble; her sisters-in-law Annye Cornelius and Willa Kay Cornelius; and her special grandson Marshall "MB" Keeley, Jr., who tenderly cared for her these past thirteen years.
Corene also leaves behind 28 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Corene Tramble-Carnegie's story is etched in love, laced with strength, and told through every soul she touched. Though her chair may be empty, her presence will always be felt- in the warmth of the kitchen, the laughter of children, and the embrace of family.
