Donald Slater, born on January 7, 1947, in Adel, Georgia, to Thelpo and Ella Mae Slater, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025. He was a beloved family man, former preacher, and devoted reverend who dedicated his life to pastoring several churches, touching the hearts of many along the way.
Donald will be cherished in the memories his wife of 55 years Ms. Sylvia Slater his son, Rodrick ( Tot) Slater of Fort Pierce, Florida, and his daughters, Delayon Taylor of Sugar Hill, Georgia, Donna (Isiah) Scruggs of Hahira, Georgia, and Tabatha Slater of Sugar Hill, Georgia. He is also survived by his brother, Joe Calvin Slater and Godbrother, Lenis Johnson; his sisters, Hildafaye Orr, Charlene Slater, Deborah Blackwell and Gloria Jean Smith; as well as a host of grandchildren who brought him joy and pride.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Thelpo and Ella Mae Slater, his sons, Tyrone and Kendrick Slater, and his sisters, Carolyn Newsom and Phyllis Huntley.
