With hearts that are deeply broken yet filled with love, we announce the passing of Fatemia Morgan Ellis, who departed this
earthly life on February 5, 2026, at the age of 28. Born April 24, 1997, Fatemia lived boldly, freely, and unapologetically — a
beautiful soul whose presence could never be ignored and whose love will never be forgotten.
Fatemia began her early education in New York and later continued in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She approached life the same
way she approached learning — fearlessly. A true jack-of-all-trades, she worked in construction, explored entrepreneurial
ventures such as Herbalife, and constantly sought new skills and experiences. She believed life was meant to be lived, not
watched, and she never allowed fear or expectations to place limits on her path.
She was a dreamer — the kind who didn’t just imagine a life but chased it. Fatemia longed for land of her own, to raise chick-
ens, grow food from the earth, and live close to nature. She dreamed of working on boats in Florida, feeling the ocean air,
traveling the coast in an RV, and waking up wherever peace could be found. She loved cooking, gardening, and discovering
new things. To know her was to witness someone determined to experience life fully and authentically.
Her adventurous heart even carried her across the world, traveling alone to Africa. That journey reflected who she truly was —
brave, curious, and guided by her own spirit. She did not wait for permission to live; she lived.
Fatemia loved deeply. She laughed loudly. She cared sincerely. She stood firmly in who she was and never allowed anyone to
dim her light. Her smile warmed rooms, her energy lifted spirits, and her presence made people feel alive. Those who knew her
will forever remember her courage, her honesty, and the way she made ordinary moments feel unforgettable.
She leaves behind the greatest pieces of her heart — her beloved children, Isaiah Ellis, Evan Stanton and Gabrielle Stanton,
who were her pride, her motivation, and her greatest joy.
She is also lovingly remembered by her mother, Sandra D. Ellis; siblings; Sabr Ellis of Rochester, NY; Barry Mewborn of Nash-
ville, TN; Shaunte Powell of Rochester, NY; Paul Chandler of Maryland; Katlyn Powell of San Antonio, TX; Shatarra Farley (Paul
Whilby) of New Jersey; and Vontrell Sharod Ellis (Dennise Y. Alvarez-Garcia) of Rochester, NY.
She leaves a cherished legacy in her many nieces and nephews — Ma’Kayla Sams, Karina Powell, Elijah Chandler, Amaya
Mewborn, James Johnson Jr., Shanae Whilby, Dylan Chandler, Ma’Layjah Sams, Aamana Marbury, Shaniyah Thompson,
Manquan Sams Jr., Liyah Chandler, Ky’Uree Sams, Lauren Ellis, Semaja Trisvan, Mae Chandler, Anaj Whilby, Khalibb Chandler,
Elle Brown, and Ava Whilby — each of whom she loved in her own special way.
She was welcomed into eternal rest by her father, Eugene C. Ellis; nieces, Raelle Whilby and Diamond Chandler; grandfather,
Tommy Rash; grandmothers, Mollie Key and Juanita Powell.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, Fatemia’s spirit cannot be contained by time. She lives on in her children’s smiles, in
stories shared between family, in laughter that echoes memories, and in the courage she inspired in others to be themselves.
