Gregory as born August 25, 1958 to the late Alvin Williams and Thelma Wilcox. A proud graduate of Cook County High School, he was known among his classmates for his deep passion for football, often reminiscing about the glory days on the field and the bonds he formed during those formative years.
Gregory possessed an extraordinary talent for fixing and assembling various items, earning a reputation as the go-to person for repairs. His knack for tinkering and creating made him a beloved figure among friends and family, who consistently sought his help on everything from cars to home projects.
On December 24,1988 Gregory and Betty were married. To this union was born three children — Brandon (Katheryn), Courtney (Jonathon), and Cayla. He was also blessed with sixgrandchildren: Tierra, Landon, Leo, Isabella, Diego and NathanGregory.
Gregory was born into a large family and is survived by fivebrothers: Donelle Coleman, Lester Coleman, Michael Lee, AlvinWilliams and Calvin Williams . He shared a special bond with his two sisters, Shirley Odom (Billy) and Angela Williams, the latter of whom preceded him in death. Aunts, Mildred Tippins, Willa Kaye Cornelius, Diane Roberts, Shari Jenrette (Curtis),Emma Grant Sorrell and Patricia White. Uncles John Wayne Wilcox and Hardy Wilcox. A special cousin Dot Garrett. Specialnurse Mary Ann Ghee. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rest in peace, dear Gregory. You will always be remembered and cherished.
