Ms. Josephine Garrett, better known as “Lil Joe”, transitioned from labor
to reward Friday, August 9, 2024, at Tifton Regional Medical Center.
She was born January 26, 1935, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Horace and
Carrie B. Garrett. Her celebration of life will be Saturday, August 17,
2024, at 1 PM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Sparks, GA.
Ms. Garrett lived in Brooklyn, New York for many years prior to moving
back to her beloved home, Sparks, GA. Josephine was loving, kind and
full of spirit. Her favorite sayings were, “The Family”, “God Bless”, and
“No Problem”. The theme song of her life was “Love and Happiness”.
Her hobbies were cooking and grilling.
Ms. Garrett was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Horace
and Carrie B. Garrett, siblings Willie (Thelma) Garrett of Adel, GA,
Carrie (Cleve) Merritt of West Palm Beach, FL, Lucille Young of
Hollywood, FL, Leroy Garrett of Brooklyn, NY, Worrest Garrett of
Brooklyn NY, Ruth Jefferson of Orlando, FL, Mattie (Paul)
Witherspoon of Adel, GA, Ida Lee Hill of Adel, GA, and Ann Garrett of
Sparks, GA. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her Godson
Stan, siblings Sylvester Garrett of Sparks, GA, JoAnn (Laymon) Inman
of Sparks, GA, Juanita Davis of St. Petersburg, FL, and Wilma (John)
Johnson of Louisville, GA, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and family.
