His transitory life came to a close on Wednesday August 21, 2024 after a brief illness. O'Neil Hill, Sr. was born in Somerville, New Jersey to the late Ollie James Hill, Sr. and Catherine Hunter Hill
O'Neil grew up in Plainfield, NJ where he attended the Plainfield Public School System, graduating from Plainfield High School in Plainfield, NJ in 1969.
O'Neil worked in the hospitality industry for many years; he relocated to Georgia and worked for the Georgia Department of Highways until his illness. O'Neil was a doting, loving husband.
O'Neil had a passion for fishing, once being the proud owner of Hill's Fish Market. In addition to fishing, he loved to play chess and watch movies. O'Neil had an energetic personality, and deeply loved his family and friends.
O'Neil is predeceased by his parents, son: O'Neil Hill, Jr.
Remaining to cherish his memories: his loving devoted wife Maria: brothers: Ollie Jr. of Mableton, GA, Herbert Sr. of Adel, GA, Jack (Bertha) of Adel, GA and Edward of Upper Marlboro, MD, grandchildren: Ella (Roberto) Marte of Edison, NJ, Mercedes (Olanrewaju) Oyebade of Hillsborough, NJ, Ra'amir and Jaamir of Asbury Park NJ, Isaiah of Boca Raton, FL, Jashea of Greenville, SC; godson: Troy Bellamy of Adel, GA: 6 great - grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
