Robbie Lee Carter was born June 2, 1930 in Jasper, FL and later she moved
to her permanent residence in Adel, GA. She was the daughter of Elizabeth
Singleton and was the eldest of three children.
In 1949, she married her late ex-husband Oscar Carter and started her
journey of motherhood. She truly embraced motherhood, loved everyone's
children as her own and dedicated her life to her family. Robbie loved to
prepare delicious meals for her family to enjoy. She also had a very high
regard for learning and wanted her children and grandchildren to value
education.
Robbie accepted Christ at an early age and was an avid and active member
of Mt. Pleasant CME Church. Outside of church, she loved working in her
yard pruning and maintaining her flowers, fishing, sightseeing and in
earlier years, enjoyed being a member of an all-women's club named the
Charmans.
To know Robbie was to love her because she was a fun-loving, high-
spirited woman who loved to laugh. She also loved to get dressed up and
look pretty which characterized her spunky personality. She was a very
tenacious woman and a hard worker. Robbie never met a stranger, and if
she liked you, you were a friend for life. She loved to embrace family and
friends with big hugs to show her adoration. Her legacy of love and
compassion serves as a shining example to all who were privileged to know
her.
On February 23, 2024, she entered into eternal rest and peace surrounded
by loving family members. God looked from Heaven with outstretched
arms and told Robbie that you fought a good fight, you kept the faith, and
you stood in the gap. Well done thy good and faithful servant, welcome
home.
Robbie was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brother,
Henry Singleton, Jr.; sister, Elnora Franklin; and grandson, Warren
