Mr. Robert "Tabby" Lee Pitts, Jr. passed away at the age of 61 on September 27, 2023, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia. He was born on August 6, 1962, in Adel, Georgia to his late parents, Robert "RL" Lee Pitts, Sr. and Maxie Lee Crawford Pitts. From an early age, Robert embraced his faith, becoming a member of Mt.
Moriah SWB Church, and later, he found spiritual fulfillment at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. His passion for music led him to serve as a Minister of Music at Bethel, Pine Grove, and Mt. Olive. Robert musical talents extended beyond the church, as he showcased his exceptional piano skills and played the tuba during his time in the high school band.
Robert educational journey began at Cook County Training School, and he proudly graduated from Cook High School in 1980 before pursuing further education at Valdosta State University. Throughout his life, he displayed a remarkable talent for floral arrangment and culinarv arts, earning recognition as an outstanding florist and a skilled cook. His generosity touched the lives of coutless individuals, known and unknown.
For many years, Robert dedicated his time and energy to Aluminum Finishing Company, where he eventually retired after a long and devoted career.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Robert "RL" Lee Pitts, Sr. and Maxie Lee Crawford Pitts, as well as his sister Glenda Pitts and his grandparents, the late Jackie Pitts, Rosa Pitts, McKinley Crawford, and Alberta Crawford.
He is survived and cherished by his loving siblings: Shirley (Billy) Adams of Adel, GA;
Doretha (Richard) Athey of Huntsville, AL; Jackie Godfrey of Barney, GA; Lurese Pitts of Adel, GA; Precilla (Tommy) Jones of Adel, GA; Gregory Pitts of Ádel, GA; Tammy Redmond of Adel, GA; and brother-in-law Robert Turner of Sparks, GA. Robert' s aunts, Edna Pitts of Adel, GA; Nettie Pitts of Sparks, GA; Ora Marjare of Adel, GA;
Katherine Crawford; and Uncles Alvin Crawford of Adel, GA; and uncles Alvin Crawford of Adel, GA; and Thomas Crawford of Miami, FL, also hold a special place in his heart. He leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom held a special place in his life. Robert's memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives he touched with his kindness and talent.
