Terry McCormick Sr

Terry McCormick Sr. , of Adel, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025. He was born on April 13, 1957, to the late James Smith and Sarah McCormick.

Terry was a proud graduate of Cook County High School, class of 1975. He dedicated 40 years of his life to serving the city of Adel before retiring in 2022. His commitment extended beyond his work; Terry was a devoted member and trustee of Mount Pleasant CME Church in Adel, where he contributed his time and talents to the community.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Smith and Sarah McCormick. Terry leaves behind cherished memories with his son, Terry McCormick Jr, of Adel, Georgia, and his siblings: Deidra  Patterson (Larry) of Adel, James Smith III of Texas, Otis Smith of Kentucky, Lisa Allete of New York, Nutressa Monroe Lawrence of St. Louis, Kali Smith, Shawnee Smith, and Mosi Smith of Atlanta, Georgia. 

Terry is also remembered by special friends Charles and Shannon Stanford, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends, including the entire Mount Pleasant CME Church community.

As we celebrate Terry’s life, we remember his unwavering spirit, dedication to service, and the love he shared with everyone around him. He will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
